    (the real reason I am not a fumbling blubbering idiot most days… he keeps me sane and grounded. and because I owed him a better picture after the last post.) I have sixty one drafts sitting in my WordPress dashboard, waiting to be finished, edited, or turned into something.  Sixty One! Um…. can someone tell me where I can get the strongest coffee in existence?  One that would keep me up all day and night for oh, a hundred hours or so without me verging on snappy, psycho mom or having any negative repercussions?  Does that exist? 🙂  My blog would be very thankful if it did.   • Six Weeks (till Christmas)

    I’m about to become one with my kitchen.  I’m channeling my inner baker, scrounging up some love for non stop dish washing, and preparing for a lot of resistance from a certain 2 year old. Our fridge is barren. Snack drawers are empty except for forgotten ziplocks of dry cereal and cheese puffs.  Tomorrow I’ll be re-stocking our kitchen with all the favorites – sans dairy and egg. For at least the next six weeks Lucas will be dairy and egg free, in addition to being gluten free.  After a second look at his allergy testing, we understand he shows a moderate allergy to cows milk and a low allergy…

  • Genetic Testing for Celiac Disease

    I got the call today.  6:15pm.  Caller ID on my iphone read “Dr. Sally – Work”.  Here we go again, I thought…..  and then I answered. Blood work was in.  Nathan’s test results showed that he does in fact have the same Celiac gene that Lucas and I have.  That brings our household ratio up to 3:1 for Celiacs vs Gluten-eaters. Lucas’ allergy testing came back inconclusive.  He was negative on all the big ones –  dairy, soy, egg, nuts.  Environmentals were negative as well.  This is great, except for the fact that something is still causing his eczema.  His IgE levels were elevated, so there is an immune response…
